DETERMINING EFFECTIVENESS OF BUSINESS EDUCATION CURRICULUM THROUGH STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILL ACQUISITION IN KWARA STATE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, ILORIN

Abstract

The present research attempts to investigate the determining effectiveness of Business Education curriculum through students’ perception on entrepreneurship skill acquisition in Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin. The study raised three specific purposes and three research questions; the study adopted descriptive survey research design. The population of this study was 613 business education students, the random sampling techniques was used to select 150 respondents from business education department in Kwara State College of Education Ilorin. The research instruments were validated by three research experts in the Department of Business Education, Faculty of Education, Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin. The study found that management skills, marketing skills and creativity skills of students are the major determinant of entrepreneurship skills of business education curriculum. Therefore, the business education curriculum on entrepreneurship skills should lay more emphasis on management skills, marketing skills and creativity skills acquisition of students. And to encourage Students as well to develop greater curiosity for high management skills, marketing skills and creativity skills in other to achieved the optimum aims and objectives of entrepreneurship skills in business education curriculum to reduce unemployment rate in Nigeria.
